Samhain, Midwinter Solstice or Yule, Imbolc, Spring/Vernal Equinox, Beltane, Midsummer solstice, Lammas and the Autumn Equinox
30th April / 1st May
The beginning of Summer - Summer is a comin in !
Beltane was an important festival in the Celtic calendar. The name originates from the Celtic god, Bel - the 'bright one', and the Gaelic word 'teine' meaning fire, giving the name 'bealttainn', meaning 'bright fire'.
This is the beginning of the 'lighted half' of the year when the Sun begins to set later in the evening and the hawthorn blossoms. To our ancestors Beltane was the coming of summer and fertility. Nature is in bloom and the earth is full of fecundity and life.
Hello, Please add yourself to the map if you have not already!!!!
Grounding and Centering...any questions ask me
Turn off all noise making devices other than maybe a CD player are a radio that is playing sounds
of nature are. If you are indoors.
This can be done indoors are outdoors, outdoors is better.
Lie on you back and control your breathing.
Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Stay completely still do not move, you will feel the need to move, tingleing in your hands arms and legs, this is normal. As this tingleing goes away imagine that you are sinking into the ground as you go into the ground in your mind picture all the things you would pass as you go down, differant levels of rock, roots of trees, sink untill you reach the center of the earth and enter molton lava. As you travel in a river of lava you are thrust out of a volcano, into a mist of ash and air, now picture yourself turning in to a flying creature. This can be anything from a bat to a bug are a bird are even a dragon. you turn into will be what you see in your mind,
as you fly over the earth you see all that is below.
As you fly near the ground you turn in to animals,
changing from one form to another. The forms you
take will depend on your state of mind.
.
When you are ready you will come to a stop beside your human
body and lay down on top of yourself and become
one.
This can last from 10 mins to 1 hour are longer depending on how deep of a trance you go into.. I would advise you not doing it alone if this is the first time you have done something like this.
( You can also begin a rock being thrown through space, and you are thrown into a lake, a ocean, a jungle any where on the planet...and then start your trip to the center of the earth.)
NOTE: If you are indoors you will have to pass through the floor are floors depending on how large of a building you are in

Your altar
Your altar is the place where you hold rituals, and keep or display your ritual tools. It can be a coffee table, bookshelf, TV tray, computer desk, or any other flat surface. An unattractive table can be spruced up with a decorative cloth.
Depending on your space or living arrangements, you may have to keep your altar small and portable. If you are unable to have a permanent altar because of friends or family members, you can just set it up and take it down whenever you need to. Using small items can make this easier. Or you can create an altar space that can camouflage as just a group of decorative items. Use your creativity.
There will be things you keep on your altar all the time, but during the Sabbats, you can decorate with appropriate items. Your altar need not be a static display. Changing it throughout the year can reflect your own frame of mind as the seasons change.
One thing to consider when setting up an altar, is the direction it faces. It is traditional to have your altar facing north, but if that is just not possible due to the size or arrangement of your living space, then you may need to place it elsewhere.
If you choose to have items to represent the 4 elements, they are usually placed at their corresponding direction:
• Fire - South (athame, candles)
• Water - West (chalice, sea shells)
• Earth - North (pentacle, bowl of salt or earth)
• Air - East (incense, wand, feathers)
Including images to represent the God and/or Goddess are also ideal, like statues or artwork. Sometimes extra candles are used to represent the Deities. Overall, the items you choose to have on your altar is up to you.
Those following an eclectic path should feel free to create an altar that represents their own spirituality. If you are a member of a specific tradition, you may find that a certain altar layout is expected.
Once your altar is in place, remember that it is a sacred place and should be treated with respect. Whether or not you let other people touch the items is up to you, but some people feel that other people will bring 'outside' energy to your tools. Keep your altar dusted and clean too.

The Wiccan Sabbats
The Wheel of the Year
www.witchonthego.com
The Sabbats are seasonal festivals which mark the turning of the Wheel of the Year and the cycles of nature. Most western pagans celebrate eight sabbats; the Summer and Winter Solstices, the Spring and Autumn Equinoxes and the quarter days or fire festivals - Samhain, Imbolc, Beltaine and Lughnasadh.
These sabbats help you tune in to the cycles of nature as they exist within you as well as without. The idea of the eight-fold Wheel of the Year was created by Ross Nicholls in the 1950's. The festivals themselves, however, are very old, and mark important times in the agricultural cycle of the year. All of the eight sabbats were celebrated in the ancient world, but not all necessarily by the same people or in the same place. It should be remembered that the energies at different times of the year are different depending on where you are.
If you are living in the southern hemisphere, the seasons and therefore the festivals are reversed. It is important to try to learn what you can about the myths, legends, beliefs and festivals of the land you live in, to enable you to tune in to the natural energies as perceived by the inhabitants of the land through time.
